CWA Wins SBC Contract
CWA locals are put together major public events and asking all supporters of good wages and benefits to join in.
North Texans are tremendously impressed with the way our sisters and brothers prepared themselves to win a decent contract with the SBC telephone company. When the four-day strike began May 21, they already had all their picket materials, all their assignments, and they had already trained legions of union people to march, picket, and rally.
The better prepared we are for a fight, the less the likelihood we'll have
one.
The Ft Worth strikers have an information source for computer users: http://cwabargaining.blogspot.com/.
We can help by joining their many public activities and by signing up to switch
carriers if needed. Information is at http://www.cwa-union.org/sbc/pledge/.
There was a time when one single union would bargain with one single employer
and the government was assumed to be neutral. Nowadays, everybody is a stakeholder,
everybody needs to take sides, and everybody has to take action!
Lorry
Warren was one of the last to stop picketing at the downtown site on April 23.
The purple 1928 Dodge enlivened the protests with its siren!
CWA members and others wear red at these events to attract maximum attention.
