UNITE! Union

Members of the Dallas UNITE! union and their friends rallied outside Southwest Hospital on Harry Hines Boulevard on March 5. Their goal was to pressure the hospital administration to assist employees of Angelica Laundries in their efforts to form a union. The hospital uses sheets and other laundry cleaned by low-paid sweatshop labor.

Most of the chanting and speaking was bilingual. But they ended the rally with this in English: "We'll be back! We'll be back!"

A ten-minute recording of the rally was played on KNON's "Worker's Beat" program on March 10.
